"Kogge ist ein gut durchdachtes Spiel, das viel Freude bereitet. Das Regelwerk ist klar beschrieben. Der Mechanismus ist speziell.
Ein Spiel für Freaks und für Spieler, die gerne mal was neues ausprobieren möchten.
Wenn sich jemandem die Gelegenheit bietet, dieses Spiel zu kaufen, dann ist meine Empfehlung: unbedingt kaufen."

"This is not a light affair; it will probably require a little over two hours and its systems and considerations are so novel that most will want to play more than once just to be sure of understanding the strategies and tactics and to learn to play it well. Wanting to try out the different advantage markers as well as advanced rules for taxation and combat will provide more plays. There may be too much negativity for some since raids can be used to take half another player's holdings, but otherwise fans of thoughtful, challenging games should find plenty to chew on here."

"So, what's so great about Kogge? Well, for me, it's just about everything I expected from Die Händler. That was a disappointment. Kogge is more dynamic. I think it would take repeated games with same people to really enjoy Die Händler, and that's just not going to happen."
